Aimpoint Reddot sights

I was watching Star Wars on TV today.
Noticed that the Storm Troopers blasters had Aimpoint sights on them.

Wonder if they were real Aimpoints????

that looks like one of those old weaver red dots from the early 70s. I chuckle at the swat shows and police shows on tv when they do house clearings with an AR with a 30 dollar red dot on it and ive even seen them with flat top ars with NO optics on them at all, just a rail.

Those sights were Single Point SP220’s I had one on an air rifle 40 years ago. You didn’t look through the tube but kept both eyes open and an image of the dot would overlay on to the target.... not that great in use but for fast acquisition on a target so so...

Single Point went out of business shortly after I got the sight.... but they do appear on eBay from time to time
