I've been wanting to get a (brass)mold from NOE, for my .268 bore swedes, first choice is the loverin 270-469, BUT they have none in any configuration that are brass. They do have the 270-163 in brass, should I wait for the loverin or buy the 270-163, or 3rd option keep hunting for a Lyman that casts 269+ ?

Any mold made for the 270 is .278 in diameter or a little larger.
6.5 is .265 or a little larger, in your case .268 so if you don't mind sizing .007-.008 off the 270 boolit
then the 270-163 should be a good one.

You don’t need to wait for a brass one. Aluminum works fine.

PM Al at NOE for a brass one, he can probably hook you up pretty quick with what you want.

Calamity Jake, The 270469 and 270163 are in the 6.5/.264 section on their website, I think NOE is known to offer molds that are slightly oversize. I believe there 270-xxx molds drop at .270, or am I wrong?

I have the NOE 270-163, it is for larger bore 6.5 Swedes. Mine drops at .270-.271." I also have the NOE 270469 (copy of the Lyman Loverin) drops the same size. A few things to note, my 270-163 is a plain base, and it has been extremely challenging to find an accurate load; therefore can't comment on an apples-to-apples comparison with the Loverin design. The 270469 shoots well for me at moderate velocities, BUT by mold has a gas check shank that is way under print spec, have to seat/size gas checks in two steps so as not to mangle them.

My 6.5 is not a military rifle, but a sporter built on an M98 action with a modern spec bore/groove dimension (.264" groove).

you are correct in that, NOE's molds "270-xxx molds drop at .270".

I use the 270469 (AKA: 270-149gr RN) Loverin style)
Mine drops at .2705 using COWW alloy.
I use it in a customized Jap type 38 that slugs at .2685 and I size them to .270
I like this one, because it has a taper to it, making it fit better in a variety of actual chamber dim's, by adjusting seating depth.
My Rifle has been rechambered, and is tight.
If your chamber is not tight, you might be better off with the NOE kurtz mold (134gr), it has a very fat nose to fill/fit a worn and/or oversize military chamber.

I have a m96 and a cg63, I have not done chamber casts, just slugged the bore, I guess I probably order some cerrosafe, ive never done it before, but I've been studying about it.
