150 grain - .310 cal
Wide Flat HP
I'm gonna load them for hogs my 7.62x39 bolt gun. They are a 3-3-94 blend.
Anybody tried anything like these before?

Thanks. (First time long time)https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180317/5e50249102e7fbdc1752f0500683a715.jpg

Well let me be the first to Welcome you aboard. Next those look like nice bullets. What mold is it? Oh and no I have not tried them but looks like I would love to. Load one make sure it will go into battery and if so load the rest then waste some hogs.

Sent from my SM-G925T using TapatalkI have H110 and 4895.
I would like to get some CFE BLK and try that.

Didn't find any load information for those powders. I would try 2400 and Reloader 7 or 4198. You said bolt gun so you can play with seating depths for max accuracy. I just got some 4895 to experiment with in all my guns since Hogdon advertises it as a reduced load powder. H110 is an 5% equivalent of 4227, W296 and N120, so it may work well. You will be breaking ground without a published recipe. Be careful and log the results. I am curious how the 4895 works out for you.

Looks like you have 311440 Hammer o’ Thor, there is an active group buy going on just now.

I've got that mould from an old Lee 6 cavity group buy. I would probably sell it if someone is interested. Solid nose, gas check. If I remember correctly it casts a little fat.

Wow. That's a lot of good information. Thanks!

I think I will focus on the 4895 for now. It can be loaded to lower velocity safely and there is similar if not exact load information available. This leads me to a few questions.

1) How do I adjust for lead vs plated bullet?
2) Is 3-3-94 hard medium or soft?
3) Is it necessary to PC to avoid leading?

Pics show load information from the Hodgdon website.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180318/fa7b29beb4a3a961b1b21a90f57e9e41.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180318/ea2dfe895b7dde4b17073af5962a7856.jpg

I use a WFN 150 gr cast (old group buy C312-150-WFN) cast of COWWs +2% tin which is pretty much the same alloy as you're using. I use this bullet in both my Russian SKS and a Mini Mk X Mauser. Both have 20" barrels with 9 1/2" and 10" twists. I use H4895 and IMR 4895. I have pressure tested my best load for hunting with 26 gr IMR4895 (the H4895 does just as well) in the Mini Mk X using an Oehler m43 PBL.

The CIP MAP for the 7.62x39 is 51,500 psi. Tested factory and milsurp run 45 to 49K psi(M43). Using load data for 150 gr jacketed bullets will get you considerable more velocity at lower pressure when 150 gr cast are used. The 26 gr IMR 4895 load run 34,300 psi(M43) with a muzzle velocity of 1970 fps. That load holds 2 moa or less out to 200 yards with my C312-150-WFN. It should be close enough with your bullet.

The velocity is a little less in the SKS because it has a slightly larger chamber and a larger bore/groove diameter. Using 27 gr H4895 in IMI cases with WLR primers runs 1875 fps.

I would measure my COL of the fire arm. You will be able to tighten up some groups.
