I had several die set of C&H back in the early 60's and they had 2 narrow lock rings but they did not have screws in them. They locked in place by tightening the top ring down tight on the bottom ring. My set were 8mm mauser, 30-06 and later .38 Special and M1 Carbine. Those rings do look a lot like mine, just with screws that mine did not have. Interesting. james

I have some of these I'm sure. They were on some dies I got in a purchase from an old wildcatter. I'll ransack the shop tomorrow... my new priority!

I have a few sets of old hollywood dies with similar lock rings.

Most of the later Hollywood dies were made by CH. Herter's dies were made by CH. Weatherby dies were made by CH.

I had heard that CH made Herters dies as well. I was on the horn with Dave at CH not even 3 days ago and brought up the subject... he told me that Herters worked like Sears and put the "die contract" out for bid every year and the lowest bid got the job, period. He guessed there were more than 5 different mfg's of Herters over the years.
