Have a box of about 890 of these small rifle primers. Anyone know an approximate date? Just curious. Thanks.

Should be a day lot code stamped into the sleve some where, either printed or indented, should start with a letter, if you contact cci they will let you know.

There was a marking of 4-829 on all the boxes. I'll email CCI and see what they can tell me. Thanks.

I bought out a fellows reloading stock. I ended up with around 17,000 CCI primers in those same boxes. They date back to the 70's. They sure take up a lot less space that the new packages.

actually late 60's I have some shotgun caps in the same box for reloading 209 primers. Believe it or not I used them when I started reloading

Especially compared to Federal. They sure are a lot easier to dump into a primer tray like the Lee round style. The new CCI packaging still isn't bad compared to Federal.

I remember those old packages from the 60's if my memory is not haywire again. One thing I seem to remember different though is my memory says the diamonds with the C C I in them were all black with white letters. maybe yes, maybe no

I got down to the bottom of my primer storage box and found three boxes of those, small pistol. I knew the approximate time period, but were they still good? I loaded a few rounds of 9mm and they all went bang......

I used to consider such things as "sorta" collector's items, but dang it.......they were made to shoot. Oh, each box was marked "69 cents".

I did the same back in the '80's. I got a LOT of primers, most were federals from the early '60's, and a substantial amount were the CCI primers from the same time frame. I just used up the last of them about three years ago....

I have some somewhere in wooden trays.
Always wondered how old they are. They work perfect though.
