I do not know if I am in the correct spot for this and if I am not I apologize , please redirect me . - I joined this site after lurking for some time and decided to join . I was only here 1 , maybe 2 days at most and I had a gentleman pm me and wanted my address to ship me a mould , as I am new to casting and hence why I am here , that really amazed me , didn't know what to say . since then I have read many , many threads and realized that there are some very good people here and you guys get it. people help people , and good people tend to find other good people , I asked the gentleman by pm if he wanted anything back for said mould and did not get a reply , so I feel I need to PIF somewhere , I just don't know if without the required 30 posts if I can do that , or do I have to wait until I have the required posts. please advise and again , thanks gentleman

Welcome from Tennessee. Personally I would be lost without these folks. Now..is it possible he let you borrow the mold? And you need to return it? I would suggest that you bid your time, and pay it forward when that time comes. You'll know when.

Welcome! These fine people taught me more about casting (and PPing and PCing!!) boolits in my first five years here than I'd discovered on my own in the previous fifty-odd. I hope it works like that for you.

hooterville,
Welcome to the forum.
While we do have a PIF section that you can participate in, no matter how many posts you have or don't have. Since you are so new to casting, I suspect you may not have much of anything casting related (to spare) to offer other casters..and that is fine. Just accept this gentleman's gift and enjoy it.

Stick around and learn all there is to learn about casting. Maybe in the future, you will stumble onto some "to good to be true" deal and have some excess of this or that...that you feel the need to share with another caster.
Good Luck,
Jon

Welcome hooterville, great folks here. The support and knowledge is great and free for the asking. Feel free to ask if you can't find the answer after reading past posts.

I too received such a package and was informed no reimbursement was required, just to enjoy it. What I received has been greatly used and appreciated. If I can help someone in the future I will gladly do so.

This reminds me of an old story... ( everything reminds me of a story :bigsmyl2: )

In ancient China a man fell into a deep tiger pit- a trap to snare tigers. Trapped there for 3 days, he was about to give up when a passerby noticed him and pulled him out.

The man who was just saved was quite wealthy and offered the man who saved him great sums of money. The man refused and instead made the man promise to do 3 great things to help others. This idea of doing 3 great things for 1 thing spread throughout the Land and the people were happy...

jon , although you are right about being new at casting , I do have a vast array of metallic reloading supplies that maybe would work in its place , I will enjoy the offering , and I will keep an eye out for the [ to good to be true] payload , but if I see the opportunity to help someone out , I will be more than happy to pay it forward.

I had been casting for many years before I found this sight back in the late 90's, a short time later I acquired an 8MM
Mauser and ask for bullet samples, a gentleman and member of this sight sent me an obsolete(323471) Lyman mold to cast some
samples with and To whom I am still thanking. I returned the mold as soon as I could.

Welcome to the board, if I can be of help, just ask.

Yep, great people, and I would almost bet you I could name the guy that sent you that mold. If it is the same guy he sent me my first mold as a christmas gift several years ago and I know for a fact he spent money later own replacing it. He is a fine feller, but crafty too, that free mould has cost me thousands. lol
