I'm going to do an experiment with my 9.3x62mm. I'm going to shoot my Lee 9mm Makarov 95gr boolits with a charge of around 9.5gr of either Unique or Green Dot with 2.0gr of Poly-Fil for a gentle 25-50 plinker load. Already made my seating/chamber dummy. Almost looks like a round ball. Should be a nice littlle experiment.

Those powder charges sound a little hot. Is the bullet gas-checked?

I have had good luck with 4 grains or so of Unique in the .303 and 3.5 grains of Red Dot or Clays in the 7.62x54mmR with a 98- or 100-grain bullet. Post your results, I'd like to know what happened.

I shoot lots of squib loads with cast pistol bullets. I'd suggest 3-4 gr of Bullseye for 800-1000 fps. A much better powder for such loads.

I haven't loaded any yet. 3-4 grains seems a bit light for a boolit fired from a case with that kind of case capacity.

I use 3.2 gr in and '06 with 90-100 gr SWCs. They run 810 fps out of my old hunting rifle with a 20" barrel. I use 4 gr of Bullseye in a 375 H&H case under a RB for a little over 800 fps also. I found shooting such pistol bullets in a myrid of calibers from .30 up through the 35 Whelen that best accuracy is usually in the 800-1050 fps range. With soft cast pistol bullets 800-900 is best. They are nice and quiet for plinking and are deadly on small game. And they are "squib" loads, not reduced loads.

I have used 10 grains of Unique in many cast bullet loads in calibers ranging from 30-30 to 30-06 with the 311316 (115 gr) , and they work fine. As far as pressure goes 10 grains of Unique is not enough to expand 308 Win cases to seal most chambers, and I get smoky necks if I don't increase that load as recommended by Lyman in their manual. It is not really a "squib" load though and produces about 32-20 velocities depending on case size. It has been very accurate in my guns though 7- 7.5 grains works as well, and is very accurate in my 30-30's.
