greetings
just purchased Rossi/ Taurus 44 mag 3 inch pistol- I believe after firing it when purchased ($200) that it being capable to with stand 44 mag rounds forever might be wishful thinking. My plan is to shoot 44 special from this mainly'

I need to purchase some 44 bullets since I don't have a mold for this as of yet. Should be a set of RCBS dies in the box in loading area. Only have 1 44 mag and it's a handi rifle. Don't believe I have ever shot it yet.

What bullets are you using for 44 ?
I would love to purchase some if you have any available

Howdy! Not familiar with your handgun, but I have a couple in that caliber. If you need purchase cast bullets, I have had tremendous luck with those purveyed by Oregon Trail. Their web-site is https://www.oregontrailbullet.com/shop/ for .44 special bullets, and I've purchased/shot their 240gr SWC. Granted, your casting your own is a much more economical choice -- plus, the satisfaction of "rolling your own" -- but these are a high quality source, perhaps, until you get the requisite equipment. I have a C A Bulldog of not too dissimilar configuration as yours, and these perform superbly in it. (I've long used my 500 up -- and presently my #1 mould is a SAECO 441-240 SWC "Keith"-style.)
BEST!

What Taurus did you purchase? You should be good to go with the full 44mag loads, Taurus work very well. I have the 429421 for my black hawk and a NOE for my Rossi 92. You should slug the bbls of both your guns and get one that works for you. I've been eyeing the https://mp-molds.com/e-shop/molds/hollow-points-molds/mp-432-244-gc-hp-4-cav HP mold there is also a devastator mold in Group Buys right now. Different sammi specs for 44 pistol and rifle. I use these out of my guns as well: http://www.rozedist.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=RZD&Product_Code=R177-A&Category_Code=ZBJ-44MAG

Hi casca ,

What does the barrel slug out at?

You really need to know that before you can make an educated choice for bullet diameter.

Depending on the alloy, how hard you'll be pushing it. The optimal diameter could be from 1 to 1 1/2 thousandth over (this is normal) up to 3 thousandth over depending on what the gun likes.

My guess is that you're going to need .432 for your Handi Rifle. But I would suggest getting the j-words at the link for the Rifle. 1000 for 137 dollars shipped. Should be darn near a lifetime supply. Target below is a 100 yard group (23.5 H110) shot with a newer Handi Rifle.

For the pistol, I shoot a Taurus and only shoot 44 Specials through it. Im using two Boolits to great affect. Both by NOE. Both cast around 250 grains the Ranchdog is more accurate at distance. The full wadcutter is more accurate out to 35-35 yards or so. Shoot the Skeeter Load 7.5 Unique. If I were only getting one...I would get the fullwadcutter.

my go to is 429421. I also shoot a 210 SWC occassionally, as well as a 215 RNFP (supposed to be 200, but drops HEAVY!). The 44 SPC isn't real picky in my experience
