Hello All,

Have shot some of those since I bought the mold from SSK back in the late 70's? With straight wheelweight mine came out at 320 grs. Has been very accurate out of my S&W Model 29 8 3/8's with 20.5 of W296. Out of my 8 3/8's the recoil seemed more like a quick shove but out of my 4 inch it gets snappy. Over the years better nose designs have come along but it's no slouch in the accuracy department. Hope this helps. All the best, Don.

I have an SSK-NEI mould that is very similar to yours except that mine has 1 large lube groove and 3 crimp grooves above it. Cast from 1/2ww &1/2 pure pb+1% tin, mine weigh between 301 to 304g. I load mine with 16.9g of WC 820. OAL is 1.710" and it chrono's 1115fps with an sd of 22 out of a 629-3 Classic DX 5" bbl'd revolver that has a 4x Leupold EER scope. Accuracy is phenominal, shooting a measured 1" group from a rest at 25 yds. According to my notes, this combo from 15.8 to 16.9g of my lot of WC 820, shot well in my other Classic DX 5" bbl (sans scope), my Ruger KS45N and KS458N, as well as feeding thru my Winchester Trapper carbine. You are gonna enjoy this design. Good luck!--Shuz

I have that mold and its brother mold in 270 grs. About 20 grs of 296 with a mag primer is what Larry Kelly used to kill an elephant with on shot to the forehead. They are stout.
I sent NOE some sample bullets and they mad their own version.
I like the 270 gr mor.

I have the SSK mold from 1980, with my alloy it throws a 317 grain boolit I use 19 grains of 2400 for a softer recoil when punching paper and 21 grains of 296 for hunting. I had veral smith make me two molds copying the beartooth 355 grain design to use in the Ruger Redhawk and Dan Wesson 744 and a 405 grain bullet that I use for the 444 marlin in my 14 inch contender, sorry can't post any pictures computer illiterate

I have the same mold. Using H110, it gets beyond what I can handle, I ran up to 21 grains. IMR 4227 shoots surprisingly soft for some reason, and never shot that well for me. In my notes, I have 13 grains of Bluedot as my most accurate load.

Mine casts about 322 grains, and unfortunately a little small at .429". I've been beagling mine to cast .430".
