I have a work trip coming up and will be in Henderson, NV shortly. I see there is a gun show 3-4 Mar at the Eastside Cannery Casino Hotel - Convention Hall in Las Vegas. Does anyone know if this one is decent size? Worth checking out?

Don't know, but I would by the time it is over, if I was there. Heck it might even save you some money.

HA I know right! I'm not into gambling, so no temptation there. I will likely go (with some co-workers in tow). Just wondered what to expect.

I have been to most of them in the valley and don’t go anymore. Haven’t seen decent prices on anything. If you want to put your hands on something to see how it looks/feels then it is worth while. I haven’t been to that location in a year or so.

Not sure about the Gun Show; but be careful of the Neighborhood.

From the East Side Cannery all the way to Nellis AFB the area has deteriorated with lots of crime. You'll be OK at the larger Casino/Hotels (Cannery, Sams Town, etc.) as a general statement; but going to any of the smaller establishments, restaurants, Gas Stations, Stop & Rob convince stores, etc... the risk of criminal activity increases.

Ohhh...thanks for the heads up! I will definitely keep that in mind.

It has been a few years, but I used to get stuck in Vegas every now and then, if it was over a weekend, I would go to the races. I didn't relly care what races they had going on, even paying for a pit pass, it was the cheapest entertainment in Vegas by far. lol

Races, Races, Races. The complex is quite awesome and interesting. I actually look and see what races are scheduled on the weekends, we avoid going from Moapa to Vegas/ Vegas to Moapa because I-15 can literally be stopped traffic from the traffic for some races.

The ones that I saw bring the biggest crowds were the harley drags and the run what you brung anyone can race races, I have been to some pretty good drag races where, there were probably less than a hundred people in the stands too.

You can watch the drag races for free by just pulling over on the side of I-15 in the North Bound Lanes.

Depending on which drags it was, it usually ran about 15 bucks, including a pit pass. The harley drags tickets, cost a little more at 25 bucks, but the ticket was good for all 3 days too.

Went to the that gun show with 4 co-workers. It was fairly small, but we did pick up a few trinkets. I saw a pretty ridiculous Bubba'd rifle that I wish I would have taken a picture of. It was a stainless .22 mag (Marlin or Savage, I forget). What caught my eye was the very poor attempt at porting the barrel (Why on earth would a .22 mag rifle need porting???). They apparently used a hand file to roughly file a 6" long flat-ish surface on the right side towards the muzzle. I guess that was to facilitate using a hand drill to unevenly drill 5 holes clean through to the opposite side. Besides looking like garbage, I'm guessing there were probably burrs in the bore as a result. They were still asking nearly $400 for that trash. What are they thinking??? SMH
