Will postell bullets shoot well in a Marlin or are better suited for another rifle?
I picked up couple molds off craig's list one drops a 1.1 inch long bullet 450 gr.

I'd think it is a matter of function through your action, first. To deeply seat a very long boolit in the case will affect the nature of the load, second. Look for published data in relation to OAL of the finished cartridge.

Postells are (normally heavy 535gr) and are (waaaaay) too long to function through the action.
What mold is this?

I shoot the Lyman 535 gr. Postell in my Marlin .45-70. Have to single load it and they better go off or I'll have to disassemble the gun to get them out. Not a problem for me as it is used as a Cowboy side match and gong rifle. Was the only bullet that gave me acceptable accuracy.
