Miha has given the green light to run a very popular 30 Caliber bullet. The . I see its purpose being suited for most 30 caliber applications. This Boolit feeds very well in some finicky 300 Blackout Rifles (RAR) and Blunt feed ramped 308s (REM).

It might seem a bit odd in the role, but I have found my 3 cav hollowpoint mold to be extremely accurate for subsonic 308 using trail boss and titegroup... top marks to trailboss.

Out of a bolt action it's the load I hand to new shooters to really wow them with a suppressor.

It's also tapered and works well in my k31.

Wasn’t tracking a problem. From what I have read here...this is probably the most accurate 30 cal mold available. I would go soft and GC if I really need expansion.

My 3 cavity HP drops as easy as any other MP. With that an extra cavity would be great as well as some solids.

I have one of the originals w/HP, "thee" worst mold for dropping bullet out of 80+ molds I own..
Fact is the mold is completely unusable if you want more than a 1/2 doz. bullets from an hours worth of casting..

Should add a have a few other Mihec molds that work beautifully..

Have you contacted Miha to see if the problem can be fixed

Some of that 1st batch of molds worked and we who had the sticky molds were told (by those who had good molds) to tweak our alloy and or casting temperature to get the bullets to drop..

After close to two months of trying to get the mold to drop bullets I modified the draft on the grease groove with a scraping tool to give it more draft negating any return policy that Mihec may have I am sure..
Still no love..

If I ever revisit that mold I will lap the grease groove to make it shallower and add more draft..

In hindsight I should have sent the mold back to Mihec from the get go..

Sorry you had a bad experience. What are your suggestions on how to remedy the hang ups. Or is it that the hollow point tears out the side. Maybe a shallower wider pin will fix it.

I ended up with a 3cav HP version after searching for one high and low. I finally found one someone had never used and was won as a prize. I am very pleased with it and have to say that it drops bullets exactly as nost of the other MP molds I own. As for Miha's customer service.....all you had to do was let him know you had a problem and I am sure it would nave been replaced (my first hand experience)

That is why I am signed up for the 4cav as well as the solid version.

The hang-ups are in the lube grooves I believe.
If I knew how to remedy the hang-ups I would have done it long ago.
Another member from this site (who has been banned) felt the some molds weren't cut on the centerline and if that is true then no amount of lapping on my part is not going to cure the problem.
This design is suppose to be one of the best .30 cal. designs for the .308 so you can imagine my disappointment when mold didn't work out for me.

I can speak to this from other group buys I have managed. The answer is NO. No mixed cavities in the same mold. The production time to make that happen isn't worth the small margins on these group buy molds.

He can’t. The aluminum molds seem pretty durable if lubed properly during use. They hold up much better than Lee or Arsenal’s. On par with NOE aluminum.

MAX...I gotcha fixed up. I dont have to tell you how slow the rifle molds run here. But I will say that I know 18.5 grains of 2400 is going to be a killing accurate load. I was afraid of trying .308 in cast until a member suggested that load.

I am going to ask Miha to let this one go into last call. Its been hanging around a while.

I completely understand where you are coming from. Mihec corrected me on another buy. you can have the.314 but only as plain base. Its about the size of the GC shank. When he opens up the mold, it makes the GC shank to big to seat a check.

4 cavity would be very heavy mold (biggeer blocks - long bullet). 3 cav's are all ready proved to work OK. Why not 2 cav?? It is same block dimension as 3 cav.

His fitting the 3 cavity into the 2 cavity block allows him to make twice as many molds from a given stick of brass, cutting his cost significantly on 20 molds. Simply admitting that it costs him half as much for materials to do so would have been nice.

Still a premium product.
