Hi I'm new to the casting boolits and slowly buying stuff and trying to learn all I can. My question is I was given a bunch of HI Tek coated boolits of diff calibers. I cant use them and was wondering if you could melt them down and recast them.

Thanks Rick

Yes you can. You can melt down and recast Hi-Tek or powdercoating, no problems. Just flux it with some wax or whatever you use and the burned coatings will float and can be skimmed off. 8-)

Actually the Hi-Tek coating will not burn when remelting it just turns in to small flakes and act like a flux by making a oxygen barrier over the molten lead, just skim it off and start casting.

You can or you could buy a gun that you could use them in.
