For the 450 sizer. Mine's around here someplace cause I never throw anything out, but haven't located it in 28 years of looking (off and on). Don't need suggestions on what else works - just want the original back home.

They are hard to find. Missing a couple myself. Good luck on your search and I’ll keep looking for mine.

I bet the Lyman is made by the Chapman company. Midway carries the bare wrench, but kits with some interesting bits may offer a better deal. The wrench:

Go to Chapman's website and buy a couple. I think I have about 10 sets of them around here including a master kit I keep in the car. They're handy.

I think the ratchets themselves are only a couple bucks. Its been a while.

I got mine at harbor freight -- off set ratcheted screw driver -- chuck the tips in the tool box put the ratchet on the 450 -- about $3 instead of $8

They are made by Chapman. Buy direct from them, save money.

Just about any decent tool store should have them. I’m not sure I haven’t checked as I still have mine but off the top of my head (double check before you buy one) I think it’s 5/16”.

Yep, that is what I did!

Thanks for all responses. Here'sw what I found:

Fleabay - prices all over the map but $13.00 shipping included was the best deal.

Midway was $7.00 plus whatever they charge for postage which is usually high.

Chapman at $6.50 plus $4.00 postage.

Amazon at $8.00 with free freight.

Fleabay also had an original Lyman Ideal logoed one at $22.00

I ordered mine from Amazon which insures I'll now find my original...

More often than not that is exactly what happens. Always good to be a realist and accept the inevitable. I gave up looking long ago and use a Chinese cheap 1/4" ratchet and socket I had spare.

That is what is on mine too.

Those lil feller's are handy. I have two. One came with my Chapman set I purchased years (like 30 maybe) ago, and the other with my Lyman lube/sizer.

Also, Chapman come in colors-easier to find on cluttered bench!

I bought a replacement from Lyman a few years ago. I’m not sure if it was a temporary thing or if it is what they sell now, but it was actually really low quality and now barely works. My Chapman one is much better.

Under $5 at an auto parts store with the car batteries and terminals. It is the tool they sell to deal with the GM side posts.

I use 1/4" socket on ratchet handle. The socket is good because it has more bearing surface on the hex stem than the lyman product. Also, the longer handle = more leverage.

I replaced mine about 30 years ago with a standard ratchet wrench from Sears, heavy duty!

I don't know when Lyman quit providing their nicely color case hardened and Lyman logo-ed wrenches with their #45 0r 450 Lubri-sizers, but my first 450, bought used in about 1972, had a standard Chapman with it. Now I don't know whether it was original or a replacement, that's what it had. I've had a couple more and they had standard Chapmans as well. I did find a CC'd and logo-ed wrench in a junk box at a gun show IIRC. I bought it and promptly lost in in the clutter of my reloading cave, but it is identical in operation, so I really am not looking too hard for it. It's enough to know it's there somewhere! ;)

I have 2 suggestions. The first is a hardware store that has a 1/4" reversable ratching end wrench. The second is a 1/4" ratchet wrench with a 1/4" socket on it. Both methods work as I have each version on each of my Lyman 450 lubers for some years now.Robert

I got one from Lyman back in November. They charge $8.40 plus the shipping. I was already ordering other stuff so I threw one in as an extra. It is stainless and marked "made in china" :-/
