Does anyone know if either RCBS or Lyman can make a die for my Lyman 450 that would size a bullet for either my .404 Jeffreys .423" bullet or my .505 Gibbs .505" I think I want the diameter to be .001" larger, say .424" and .506" respectively. Or am I out of luck. The local machine shop said they'd do it for $75 per hour and it'll be about 3 hours of work and then the'yd have to send it off to be heat treated. I want to shoot these guns with cast boolits due to the extreme costs of the jacketed ones.
You see Mountain Molds will make the mold but I want a way to seat the gas checks and lube em up. The other option is to have them drop out as cast to those diameter and pan lube with a plain base boolit design. :castmine:

Give Buffalo Arms a call. I believe they offer custom dies for those lube-sizers.

Sometimes you can't have everything. Lee Precision will make a custom diameter die and ram for about $30 but it is not for the Lyman sizers. BvT

Contact Buckshot here on the forum. Way more accurate machining than a factory die, and costs no more. Good guy to deal with. Those sizes will be easy for him to make.
