Has anyone done a comparison between these 2 Boolits? I recently sold a Herter's branded copy of the Lyman, and just acquired a Spanish Mauser in 7.62x51.
I have a few hundred of the 311413s that wouldn't clean up through my 30/06. Turns out, my 7.62 Mauser loves them!
Before I run out, I really need to find a replacement for this boolit! Especially as FN boolits won't feed without jamming.
I'm looking for in-hand physical data, or actual shooter experience, not mold spec data, before I spend on a mold that won't work. Any help is much appreciated.
TIA,
Sledge (edited to correct typos )

Hello, I wanted to drop a suggestion as I read you are looking for a replacement for the 30-06. I've been testing a cast load using the NOE 309HTC NOE-153-SP mold on the 30-06, Its a non lube grove no gas check design which drops out at 154.6gr with Lyman #2 or WW @ .311 diameter unsized. I managed to shoot a consistent MOA group using pistol powder HP-38/231 @ 11grs with this mold. They shoot around 1430 FPS with low SD and ES numbers also. Heres some video footage on the load development on my channel:

Around 13 min is when you'll see the groupings. Ive also shot it on my lastest video being sub MOA

I'm currently working on developing this load with H4198 and get it to the 2300 fps mark. BHN is 16 on the testing, H4198 will be 24bhn. As for the Lee 312-155. Ive only tested a few but it was the tumble lube design of this mold and it shot great in 300AAC with H110

Heres the NOE mold. http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/index.php?cPath=84_460
PM me if you would like to try some out ill send you some that are PC and unsized. That would be the best option before buying a mold is to ask our members for a sample.

Also NOE is in production on this mold which is a little similar but offered in a Gas check

Im kinda excited and waiting for my chance to purchase

Lyman 311314 vs Lee C312-155-2r

Could you be making reference to the Lyman 311413 ? ?

I think you have your bullet / mould ID number wrong.

I've got 20 of the 155r loaded for the FR8,but @-14 W.C. load development is gonna have to wait. They do well in the 300 BO and the SKS,sized bigger for the sks.

Looking for a load that doesn't abuse my well abused 67 YO shoulder :groner:

PM if you wanna try some PC'd GC sized .310 or .313 .

What do you mean " wouldn't clean up " ? ?

I am guessing he means they wouldn't shoot worth a crud.

As an option to either bullet I suggest the NOE 310-165-FN "XCB". It has proven an excellent bullet in several .308Ws of mine and also a couple '06s. It shoots better than the Lee C312-155-1R in my Spanish FR-8.

You are correct! Major brainfart on my part. I'm looking for a replacement for a 311413.

I reckon my post isn't very clear, upon rereading it. I need a replacement for a recently sold 311413. To use through my '16 Spanish 7.62x51. The rifle will not feed FN boolits without jamming. I have several FN, RN molds already that I feed my 30/06 with.
My 7.62 doesn't care for the Lee 200gr that I use through my 30/06. But it loves the 311413. I only have 274 of those left, and am looking for a mold to resupply before I run out.
Hence my interest in the 155/160 Lee molds. My budget is skeletal until around May when work picks up again, so I'm on the cheap....
Thanks for all the help, everyone.

"What do you mean " wouldn't clean up " ? ?"
They were all over the place. Couldn't keep five in a bucket @50 yards! I fiddled around for about 15 years, trying to find a cast for that rifle. Finally read an article by Frank Marshall that showed me the light. That was before I found castboolits.com......
