SOLD..........
For Sale:

Austrailian lend lease S&W38 Victory Model.

I checked this gun out with the S&W forum guys. Great knowledge from them.

This pistol is a Pre-Victory 1942 shipped to Hartford Ordnance for lend lease, to Australia.

If she went to Britain, they were not stamping British proofs yet.

It has the S&W original finish. Not the Aussie Lithgow repark finish.

Bore shines. It shows usage.

Hand grips are original to gun.

In which I was told this is a BONUS, as most Aussie pistols don't have matching grips.

It has the VEGA import stamp on it.

I was told by forum members, you won't get an Aussie Victory as this was the only way she came back into the state's.

So it fully helps to verify it came back from Australia.

Inside the Hand grips, where the spring is, has cosmoline still.

There is a chip on a Hand grip.

One of the RARER Victories to own, per forum members.

I'm asking 400.00 shipped to 01-03 dealers.

It is still 38S&W NOT 38 Special.

PayPal accepted GIFT only.

P.check, M/O.

1st I'll take it gets it.

No trades please.

Nice piece. Priced correctly for what it is.

For comparison purposes ONLY, these photos illustrate what a typical BRIT return looks like, and their associated proof marks.

This gun NOT for sale.

209506209507209508209509209510209511Thanks for your input. Now I can pass on some more info to why mine is different, than Outposts pistol.
I have one exactly like yours.
All the British proofs, the Lithgow black park, FTR, etc.
But as the S&W forum guys concluded.
This pistol shipped out 1942, for lend lease. No one knows if it went to Britain first or straight to Australia.
They said even if it did go to Britain they weren't proofing yet.
This gun is much RARER than the Lithgow pistols, because it holds its original S&W finish.
Outposts Lithgow is black phosphated, because it was redone at Lithgow Arsenal, (Australia).
In the 1950's.
My pistol missed Lithgow some how.
But came back to the state's, through Vega Imports.
Vega shipped all Aussies, And New Zealand lend lease's back.
Outposts pistol, and my Lithgow pistol is probably 99% without the correct handguards.
Mine (THIS ONE FOR SALE) does have the correct grips.
HTH's.
Thanks Outpost for clarification on the Aussie, Victories.
And you have a very NICE pistol!

If it were not Christmas time, I would be all over that incredible deal. I ran into one a few years ago for 100 dollars more and was not black parked like your beauty or from Lithgow.

I am envious I cannot afford that cool piece of history. However, it has been some really nice eye candy.

I would recommend you keep this active or relist after Christmas, as Santa may have given some here money to burn a hole in their pocket. It is priced affordably and should sell. I paid lots more than that for mine on GunBroker.
