Stopped in to my local LGS today for a coffee and someone must have turned in this unopened brick of Speer primers. From the limited data I'd say Jan of 1980. That being said I'd like to hear from anyone who would know more infomation. The tray dividers are made from wood.

With wood dividers I would say pre-1950-1960 but I have never seen "Speer" labeled/branded primers so they may be from a major mfg and then private labeled. I have a lot of old primers and most with wood are very early. Before wood its tins.

Vernon D Speer used to use his full name on early production projectile boxes... they are very cool.

Maxreloader, If you pass through OTTP on any type of regular basis then I'm quite confident you've seen me. I hang pretty tight to the revolver counter. I generally stop in most every day. The older fellow (Dave)who works there shoots with my group quite often. Just ask any of them about the lead caster and they'll point me out. I'd love to meet you.

I used to pass-through once a week but lately its been more like once a month lol... I have a large deal brewing up near the Chinah Dinah so I have been trying to escape work to make things progress... I'll be sure to pm you next trip through! I'll bring goodies if you pm me what you collect/shoot. Anything .30, .45 and 6.5 I keep, anything else is fair game.

Speer 10 manual has some Speer CCI history in it, might offer you some clues as to year range.

Neat find you got there! I've gotten quite a few empty boxes out of the trash. During the recent ammo shortage I found lots of old .22 boxes that people had sitting around for years and then broke down and shot up.

200M PRIMERS
Wonder if they are early versions of CCI-250
Dick Speer not Vernon Speer
And I would say the primers were made in late '50 or early '60s

CALL CCI and they may have interest in these primers!!!!!

I bought some old federal lp primers that were boxed like that. I e-mailed federal and they said that they were name in the very early '50's, making them as old as I am. They still shot just fine.
