Here's the test range, 10 yards, my lead miser lead catcher backstop <( http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?342719-Building-a-gt-gt-gt-LEAD-MISER-BACKSTOP-lt-lt-lt-for-Practice-Load-Workups ) and this old rest. I had the Chronograph set up between me and the target to get all the details while shooting for groups.

Originally I just wanted to find a good load using the Power Pistol Powder and the 213 grain PC'd Clear Gloss SWC's. These are made from 50/50 Isotope & COWW's + 1% Sn @ 11.8 BHN, sized .4515" & came from a Lee mould.

BUT...

I remembered having a box of 500 of these 200 grain COWW lubed SWC's @ 12 BHN, sized .451" & came from a Lyman mould I think... and thought why not compare the two side by side in the same load workup...just for kicks and to have something to do.

Here are the stats...it looks like in both cases that 6.7 grains got the best SD in both PC'd & Lubed although I think the PC'd rounds gave a tighter group overall in these 3" bulls eyes.

Now that ya have that data, if it were me... I would repeat the test(s). Cuz, thats how "I" am...
;)

As they say though... YMMV
;)

I have some PP around here I think. Maybe after I get done with this Red Dot, I'll try some of that... LOL
:)

G'luck Charlie! Thanks for sharing the data!

Back when we first were experimenting with powder coated bullets I compared with 45ACP and several boolits. Velocity was always virtually a tie with other variables held the same. Accuracy, I can't say as I shoot free handed and am minute of box car. Gun cleaning MUCH easier with powder coating!

that's how I find it to work too.
sometimes the lubed and sized win's sometimes it don't.
it just depends on which one I worked over first and what efforts I put into the other method.
sometimes there isn't enough difference between plated, coated, lubed, and jacketed to bother with.

10 yards? Try 50 yards and you might learn something.

I wish I could buy that Power Pistol powder in my area, but can't. I would have to order it online. Now I can get and have tried WW's AutoComp and I LOVE it!!

Thanks. OS OK. Nicest thing I've been called in over 60 plus years!
My wife wants to know what I'm smilingly about.
