450 bushmaster work up loads

Got a kid who bought a 450 Bushmaster Ruger American. He's small framed and flintches like crazy. He just got it and has only fired full power factory loads.

I want to build it up. Starting with trail boss and 230 grain RN bullets, going to 250s then to 300 gc loads. Gotta give him trigger time and familiarity with the rifle and build on that.

Got any loads like that?

8 to 10 grains of Unique has always worked for me in many calibers.

45 Colt cowboy loads will work just fine.
