I already got a 7 point earlier with my crossbow so I'm limited to does for the rest of the season, but I'll be out there monday morning. This time I'll be taking the Uberti 1873 Winchester clone. I'm getting 1050 fps with a PC'ed 230 gr. flat point. Had it at the range yesterday evening to see how it shot in poor light conditions. At 50 yards I was hitting 1 inch groups 1 inch left and 1 inch high. Since I'll be limiting my shots to 75 yards, I figure that should take any doe unfortunate enough to step into the open near my blind. Can't wait to try it out. Wish me luck!

Nothing yesterday. Today I had 13 turkeys visit me.
Shooting time ended today at 5:02. I got out of my blind and unloaded the rifle. 2 minutes later, a doe steps out in front of me! Figures doesn't it???

Muzzle loading season just started here last weekend. Modern rifle ended 3 weeks ago. {First time I'm missing both seasons.} Just built and now siding a 18' x 24' lawn shed and I'm >Broke. __Zip !! no travel money what-so-ever to spare. i.e. Home Depot has it all now.

In this local when hunting muzzle loading season the rifle has to be a front stuffer {no levers no pumps or bolts} and one with open barrel sights until your 65 there after a scope can be mounted by us old geezers. Kind'a tough sitting here looking out a window at a beautiful day starting and thinking "Gee it would be a good day walking from here to there on the scout today in my woods"___ "Oh well such is life."

My son took a nice doe yesterday. Only full day he had to hunt this week.
