Went out this morning, in some pretty hard winds and rain, guessing it was gusting up to 25-30 mph with rain off and on. We were headed to a place with small pines about 15-20 ft tall. Some small medows, and roads wondering through them. I had just told my buddy this looks like a great place to see a buck. About 10 min later, we spotted one, we had just started hunting, he lazered it at 103 yds. I cocked the old thompson, side lock, then set the back trigger, put the peep sight just down from the top his his back behind the shoulder and touched the front trigger.

The old soft lead cast bullet at 450 grns dropped him like a rock! My buddy was pretty excited to be able be there and watch the whole thing. Pretty neat experience, this is my second season with muzzle loaders, and, not my last. Its a fun way to hunt that's for sure.

Excellent work, especially considering the wind and rain. Most people would hesitate to use an inline in such conditions, much less a side lock.
