Rec'd my TLC460-350 6 cavity this week and cast some today. They were WW air cooled and ranged from .452 to .457. Two were very much out of round. I have several other of the 6 cavity (460 & 430) and they came out great. This 350 gr. is a real disaster. Anyone else have this problem with this particular mold? I can't believe this is the only one.

have you contacted Ranch Dog? That would be step one.

I understand he is quite ocuupied with his ailing wife right now and this would not be a good time to bother him. Just wondering if anyone else hand a similar situation. Some lapping and beagleing (sp) will probably take care of the problem.

Contact Michael (Ranch Dog ) And he will send you another mold. And he will inspect it. He is very good about this.

I received the same mould a few weeks ago. Still trying to get my casting technique down but all my bullets are .457 +0 - 0.001 and round to +- 0.001

I did have to take the measurements on the band right above the gas check step. Measurements with a dial micrometer on other parts of the boolit seemed unreliable due to tilting the bullet or measuring on the ogive.

I do have two cavities where the boolit sticks so the mould may need some leementing.

I think I'd wait till his current emergency is resolved.

I agree. It isn't that big a deal. Just wondering if others were undersized. It appears at least one is. Not all that much a surprise from Lee. I use a lot of their products though and have learned the art of leementing, especially from other members here. Good bunch.

I had a challenge with a sticky cavity. I polished the cavity a bit , resmoked the mold and everything works fine.
Supposed to be .460, but doesn't size at all in a .459 sizer.
Care to explain your process for beagling ?

Hey guys! I appreciate your concern for my wife's health but bidness is bidness! If a mold is not right and you don't want to fool with it (I don't blame you), contact me via email as I will make it right. If my mold inventory is depleted, very possible, I will refund your $$. I need to get the mold back before it is modified, Lee-mented, beagled, etc. as I will send it back
to Lee or sell it as a second.

The largest problem I have is maintaining an inventory. I've sold a bunch of molds and Lee can't keep up with it.

Bishopgrandpa...

I never heard back from you. It is impossible to associate a forum name with my customer information. Please send your mold back to Lee so a replacement can be shipped to you. Include this form in the shipment. I want you to have the mold that you purchased and would send you another but I'm out!
