Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes.

I need antimony. There I said it.

I have a ton of lead I want to harden up and need some antimony to do that. I have been calling around to try and find some and no luck.

Please, any ideas???

you can get it from the antimony man
or from roto-metals.
it is fairly easy to alloy in but takes some time and patience

The antimony man, Bill Ferguson. Google him.

The easiest method to alloy antimony if you can find it is to blend in Monotype or stereotype or linotype. How much of it depends on which of these you find and what your shooting. Search the net and see if you can't find one of these alloys.

Chilled lead magnum shot also had antimony.

+1 for cbrick - with the type metals, they are already alloyed and will mix nicely. Check on ebay - I just saw some monotype in 50-pound lots that will probably go for $65-70 dollars delivered. Mixing pure lead with monotype in a ratio of about 4 to 1 will give a great alloy.

Mix in linotype for a mix close to Lyman #2. E-Bay has several sellers of linotype. Thats what i've done in the past.
