Not as sick as you think, years back I had a friend who had a cannon designed to shoot concrete filled beer cans.

Let's do a GB on a hollow-point version of that.

I'd be in if it was a flat base.

Brown grocery bags are used for the paper patched version...

We might be able to work up some kind of way to turn the new aluminum Bud "bottles" into spitzers. It'll take a BIG swaging press, though.

Or something to that effect:

16 Lb Projectile launched with 2 table spoons of cannon grade BP.

3 Mortars fired for accuracy 200 yards down range, winning Mortar (The Red One) had a group size of 4 in 6 ft circle.

The ones with the holes drilled are neater as they whistle on the way up and back down.

Fire in the Hole !!!!!

Not Really Boolits but the cannons at the shoot did use cast Lead Boolits.

These are so much fun !!!!

Hey folks,

A long time ago I used to have a black powder mortar that shot Campbell soup cans filled with concrete. It would only use about an ounce of powder, but when you touched it off, you could watch the soup can fly up in a gracefull arc and land about 100 yards down range. If the ground was somewhat soft, they would stick in a dent an inch or so in the sod. If it was in the dead of summer and no rain for a while, they would hit the ground and bounce once or twice. It was fun at the time. I bought from a guy who I think bought it from the Dixie Arms place in Tennessee.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile

..............A 46,000gr jacketed SP, way cool! I have the material on hand for a beer can howitzer and a V8 juice can cannon. My hold up at the moment is my steady rest isn't large enough for either of'em. I do have a 1 ft square by .750" piece of steel to make a bigger one, one of these days.

I do have a golfball cannon made out of stainless. You can see some pics of guys shooting it on castpics, Topaz 2000, then Hardware. With 150grs of 2Fg you can send 3 golf balls off so fast you can barely see them.

I have a friend in OR who has some VERY funny stories revolving around a bowling ball motar. One involves a few beers, pod of whales and a US military vessel off an island out Seattle way. Very funny.

I think Wapsupi had some lube gruves for sale or trade earlier this year that might work on this projectile.

When I was a Kid in highschool metals shop class I made a mortar that shot beer and pop cans filled with water. It was kind of neat to launch a pop can 200+ yards and watch it splatter. My Father put an end to my mortar shooting days when I started shooting impact detonated pipe bombs out of it and destroyed the neighbor's mail box. Neither Dad nor the neighbor were pleased and I got an education in purchasing and setting up a new mail box.

Best Wishes from the Boer Ranch,

Joe
