I’ve started looking into casting round ball loads for my 12 gauge.. I was given a pot to start with was wanting to know if anyone can point me in the right direction. Powder best primers any information would be helpful. Thanks205941

I can't help you any other than to suggest going over the the Casting for Shotguns section/threads on this forum. Probably have pretty good luck there I'd think.

Research and loading manuals. What may work well in mine, yours or others my not work well in others. Read, test and reload again.

will that furnace heat and melt lead? Need that decided first. Decide on a mold for your loads. That will help decide the powder needed. I have not found much difference in primers.
A shotshell reloading manual will steer you in the right direction.

Wow.. That good old Saeco pot must have been dreged up from the bottom of the lake. Will take some time and elbow grease and some parts to get it up to speed again. Does the pot even work or have you been hesitant to plug it in ???

We used to use light trap loads with .690" round lead balls, called them "pumpkin balls", VERY fun! Low recoil, just don't try firing these through a tight choke :) You'll likely want soft lead here.
