A real early 336 c.1948 rifle. No collector would touch it as it has Stith mount on it and a 2.75X Kollmorgan scope. Little do they know ! Got the whole rig for $500 ! Rifle shows slight exterior wear, perfect inside, scope bright and clear.

Mounts will take one of my Lyman Alaskans with Litscherts higher X converters for lead boolit paper punching.

Sweet old gal, ready to sling lead for ever !

That is a cool retro rig there. I had a Savage1899 .250-3000 with Stith mounts and a 2.5x Weaver that was so much fun to shoot.

Charles; I just bought a 1948 336 30-30 myself. From what I read I believe that's the first year of production for the 336s. Very happy to have mine as it's in top notch shape. Just my third lever gun. I have it bracketed on both sides, a 45-70 and a 22LR. lol Gp

Well, I forgot what I should have known as I've got other Stith Mounts, There is a lip in the front ring so none of Litscherts adapters will go in.

"Never throw/sell and odds and ends out". Found, in my G&H box, a 1" mount with a flat sided mounting plate.

More holes (already 6) in this Marlin are no concern. Put the G&H on with a 1.5-6 Leupold. Punched out the King Sight (rare) barrel sight filler and put a nice Marble from my open sight box. Also found a hood for the front sight.

Will put the Stith Mount and Kollmorgan on Ebay for $250 unless somebody here wants it.

"See better, shoot better."
