Given my age and the amount I shoot I have a life time supply of lead for casting. However, curiosity is getting the best of me. Ergo, the following question.

What is the latest in regard to casting zinc bullets? I really thought by now someone would have perfected equipment and a technique to allow that to happen but I haven't seen much in the way of any innovation along those lines. Of course I haven't been following very closely either so perhaps it has happened and my question is, therefore, moot.

it is 100% possible and you need nothing other than what you currently have now.
you just run the temps about 100-f higher.

you can also run a lead/zinc alloy or a lead antimony zinc copper alloy.
the latter one will work with very low amounts of each ingredient and has a very desirable malleability trait at higher stress points.

Be cautious when melting zinc in a steel pot. Some of the steel pot will dissolve in the molten zinc.
