I needed some 12" float plate and some heavy 4" angle iron, so went to our local supplier.
This place also buys salvage iron, copper, aluminum and LEAD.

I have ask before about buying lead, but was looking at their pay out price list and could see they pay 12 cents a pound. They told me they didn't sell any.
Today however there was a box of lead ingots (lee) sitting in the floor in the office.

I know some folks don't think much off lee stuff, but these ingots were sure nuff purty and the price was 80 cents a pound. Hmmm I didn't need them, but just couldn't help myself. lol

I guess its true about being addictive! Ingots out of a Lee mold are smoother than the ones out of my cast iron molds.

At .80/lb, any good lead, especially already in ingot form, is a real bargain. Especially if the scrapper will scan it and give you a read out.
