The auctions that I have watched usually closed at prices high enough not to be a bargain. They also sometime require you to shread or destroy the original form. But yeah, that's an impressive pile of lead at a fair price.

Wow! If you're shooting 148gr LSWC you'd have enough lead for 189,189 boolits. That'll keep you busy with a two cavity mold.

Not much of a bargain...only 2640 lbs of lead (unknown alloy with embedded steel fittings); remainder is kirksite (aluminum/zinc). Subtract 10-12% from the total weight for the fittings then add on local sales tax and the 12.5% "buyers premium" that you're going to pay the online auction for their services and don't forget that you'll have to have it ALL melted down and submit a 'Certificate of Destruction' within 30 days.

Funny thing is I used to work on Warner Robins AFB. Along the flightline those weights are all over. They anchor aircraft down with them in high winds. I always would get weak kneed looking at them. That is a lot of lead.

Scrap dealers will pounce on that i think, they just buy it, send to china for recycling. They can pay more for it than we can.

I got a 400kg boat keel years ago, turned out that it was concrete covered in lead, thankfully it didn't cost me anything, but easy to get caught when you don't know if it is indeed solid lead or not.

I did not pick up on the Kirksite, Good catch! I've followed some of these auctions and I'm betting it goes for much more.
