other than keeping the melt at an even temp when I dump in more alloy, how do you use yours? do you log temps or use it to guestimate alloy content by melt temp? I have a little data to use as a guide such as no higher than 750 degrees for alloy from Lyman cast handbook. other than that is there any reference data? Thanks in advance, JB

I have just begun experimenting with my RCBS thermometer. One very useful thing it does is give me a way to return to a temperature that a particular mould and alloy prefers. Each mould seems to have a preferred temperature range for best production.

The nurse said, 'doctor, you have a rectal thermometer in you shirt pocket.

He said 'Aw sheeooot! Some b*ms got my pen!'
