OK Fellers, I need a bit of help. I'm teaching a friend how to reload. He has the 500 SW and at 2.50 per round he wants to shoot it cheaper. I made up a load for a 400 gr lead bullet and trail boss, Large Rifle Primes. He has all components but the guy at the Shop sent him home with Ramshot Enforcer. Found a starting load for a 400 gr sierra SP but velocity is 1,680. To fast for lead. Anybody know of a load using these components? Or is it even possible to use this powder with lead? Or can anybody look one up my books don't have anything.

I would say use the ram shot enforcer data for the 410 or 440 bullet. I don't believe that enforcer likes to be downloaded. Lighter loads will require different powder if that's what he's after.

Yep, this ^^^ is what I'd do.
Ramshot lists the 410 and 440.

I've also used Unique with a 385gr RF plain base boolit

Set him up with at least 2 loads, the trailboss and the Ramshot powder. While Ramshot won't like low pressure, it will do fine at the lower end of the book loads. When I first took my 500 to the range I went with Trailboss and IMR 4227 and I am so glad I did. The trailboss made my 500 into a 22, which I was pretty disappointed with. The 4227 at the starting book loads, 37.3g with a 350 gr Berry's plated was perfect, so I was very glad to have more than one option.

Next trip I took Alliant 300MP which was truly dinosaur killer, and decided that was just too much for more than a few shots. So at the moment 4227 is my friend, looking for more options in the mid-range, where the 500 recoils enough to be fun without being too much. Good luck bro
