well i shot my first steel challenge match today. used the new glock 19. all i can say is yeah i grip to high, and wont comment any further on that. all i will say is after the 178 1/2 times my hand is bloody and if friggin hurts... lol

anyway i used winchester white box and my reloads. the reloads went perfect. now for the crappy **** white box. had one failure to fire, looks to be a light primer hit. WTH in a glock and useing good ammo. right in the middle of a good run. had to bail out and take a 30 second penatly in a stage that shoulda ran me sub 4.50 seconds.

any way steel challenges are fun, hope to do some more in the future. videos to come later tonight. -chris

thinking bout having a epoxy or resin tail put on it so i dont get bit. i was very suprised how well the compact glock did shoot.

im hooked on the steel -chris

Looks like a lot of fun. I have never done it. How are points scored - is it strickly from hearing the bullet hit the steel? Is it ever disputed whether or not the bullet hit the steel? As fast as things are going I would think it could be a problem.

I recently acquired some steel targets and have been shooting them informally.

Hands heal.
You did the important stuff.
All that matters.
My hands are so large, I swallow Glocks. I was never comfortable shooting them.

buy the sound of the steel. but the targets are supposed to get painted after every shooter. so you can see the hit. there were enough people to listen for the hits. we painted them like once a squad. we werent that picky. sometimes in a fast run you cant tell if you hit them. and you may shoot the stop plate before you realize that you missed. then that adds 3 secs of penality to score. -chris
