I just ordered the bayou classic sp1 jet burner, with an advertised 185,000btu's! I haven't been able to mix any alloys in about 5-6 months. as soon as it gets here, I have a single batch, in two parts, already mixed and ready to throw into the ol' propane tank pot. the mix is going to be 250 lbs of 3.5%sb/3.5%sn/.5%cu. should make for a tough alloy. it is mainly going to be for a 9.3X62 cz shooting a 285gr boolit at between 2000 and 2200fps. I am just wondering , with the copper in there tostrengthen it, if I will still have to heat treat it, because I would like a little expansion. not a lot, maybe up to .45-.50 after impact. thanks!-Travis
