Almost every time I use my smoker some of my neighbors will come over for a visit/taste.

I call them smoker vultures. I joke about the vultures are circling. But it all good.

Today, I am smoking some pork for the wife and daughter.

So I got up early and made a vulture to sit upon my smoker.

I am trying to teach my self welding this summer. I am really just sticking metal together. Hopefully, practice will turn me into a welder.

Very creative!

Hopefully your neighbors will take the hint when they find out what it is.

They will think the vulture is watching over the meat until they get there.

That's wonderful, but I don't think it will scare the neighbors away.

wish I could see more of that smoker. as far as wielding goes I taught my self to wield. trick is when you mess up and you will learn from what you did wrong. the hardest thing for me was watching the liquid metal and going slow enough for it to keep up with my wielding rod. and the next thing was getting the temp right and not burning a hole threw what I was wielding. but after 14 years I can lay a good bead of wield now. keep at it and you will get the hang of it. and as far as the neighbors go once you feed them once well it like a stray cat you never get rid of them D Crockett

I thought this was a thread about a substitute for pot, but it turned out to be a kettle.

Took elk chili to Church today. Would have thought most around here would turn their nose up but it was gone in about 20 minutes

I fire up the BBQpit and I have people wanting me to cook food for them. If I have room I toss it on with the caveat they come get it when I call, no delays or I will eat it!

Love the sense of humor!

As far as welding goes, practice, practice, practice. Start with some scrap and just make beads. Practice starting and stopping. After you can run a nice bead start sticking 2 pieces of steel together. Start out flat and get good before going vertical or horizontal. Work on developing your technique. Different welders have their own way of manipulating the rod. Some just drag it, some move in a circular motion, some move in a figure 8, ect. You just have to burn some rods to get good at it. If you know a welder go and visit him and watch how he works.
