I've been casting and shooting the Lee TL356-124-2R for quite some time now.

I have had lots of problems with tumbling, forcing me to Beagle my mould to get proper sizes for one specific gun, my Browning HP. It does work exceptionally well in our Sig and the new M&P, straight up.

On a whim, I picked up the Lee 356-125-2R and following garandsrus' cleaning hints (use a toothbrush to get into all the crevices!) cast up 10 lbs of homebrew (5% antimony, 1% tin) alloy in short order. Random sampling measured boolits at .356 to .3565, so I slugged the problematic Browning. Having the larger amount of lead in contact with the grooves seems to help deform the boolit to conform to the rifling!

Tumble lubing conventional grooved boolits always seems wrong to me, but since the groove is fairly shallow in this design, it seemed to fill out well. A short stint in the oven to accelerate drying (wife wasn't home - [smilie=1: ) and I loaded some up without sizing and shot away when we got to the range.

I'm very happy to report 0% tumbling with Blue Dot, and I don't have to separate out different boolits for different guns now!!

Anyone else have a favorite boolit for their 9??

I really like the 356-120-TC.
I use Blue Dot, and pan lube.
No leading, no tumble, no jams, once I figuired how deep to set it.
A sweet shooting casting.
I use water dropped wheel weight with small tin.

My favorite 9mm bullet so far is the Lee 358-105-SWC with 3.5 grains of W231. I also cast and shoot the Lee TL 356-124-2R but haven't found a load as accurate as the little 105 gr. SWC.

I use the TL356-124TC for all my 9s with great effect. The added bonus is that they drop at .358 so I use em unsized in my 38s.
I use straight WW, water quench & they weigh 130 gr.. They perform in everything from my 1940 Luger to my Sig P226. Also shoot well out of my S&W mod 19s!

Me too, I'm a big fan of the little .38 boolit. Works great in 9mm. I go 4.0 or sometimes 4.2gr of Titegroup in mine but have to give that load of 231 a try. Thanks!

I'm shooting three different bullets in my HP.

The 356402HP shoots and feeds well. The 358242HP also shoots and feeds well. For small game, the 358480HP is the winner.

So dependent on your needs, either will do well for you./beagle

Cloudpeak, Yeah, I've been eyeballin' that one for some time, but thought it a bit light..

Beagle, After reading your awesome article on castpics about cast in the HP, the only question I have is where do you get your moulds??? :D

Normally, I'll buy DC moulds and I have a shooting partner that's a master machinist modify them. He's also a caster and he'll make about what I want. Ain't life grand?????

I really like the Lyman mold #356637 for my 9MM needs. It is a 4 capacity mold and drops a 147 grain boolit. Lyman claims that it was specifically designed for IPSC shooting and is suppose to be very accurate. It has a beveled base which picks up lube in my Lyman 450. I am working to solve that problem because the lube gets every where.

I, too, like the Lyman 356637 as well as the old Lee 356-152-2R. I use a Pitzer push through sizer so no problem lubing bevel base boolits.

Have there been any group buys on a Lee 6 hole 9mm mold?

I've had good luck with the Lee TC-356-124TL in my Taurus. Light loads lubed with JPW. PT92 doesn't seem to care if I size to 356 or not! Also, the TC profile feeds like a champ. I,m thinking about popping for a six-banger!!

Dang it!

I was just at Midway's site and they're out of the Lee 358-105-SWC again..

Teach me to do actual work!!
