I'll put this under be careful what you wish for .
Monday I was rewarded with probably the clearest cleanest air I've seen in years . For those that can't see 100 miles any day the description will be lost I'm sure .
Monday morning the tree line was green for 25 miles it was upwards of 40 for the full purple mountains majesty effect .......this morning anything over 3 miles was lost in the soup .

Wet winter , rising lakes , full rivers ............ Cheat grass knee deep .....

So if you think about take a minute for the brush poppers ,smoke jumpers and pilots (may their wings fail on the ground) .

Sunrises and sunsets just don't really register well on film. Back when I was trying to be a "photographer," I'd underexpose the film and overdevelop it, and that showed some pretty rich colors that were at least a little like what the real thing looks like. But best is slide film. Mounted, you can take it and adjust the light to whatever level makes it look most like what you saw in the "real world." Most folks never really "see" sunrises or sunsets any more. They're usually just taken as a "signal" that day is breaking. I've always been awed by beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and likely always will. Sheer beauty, and all for free! It's a shame so many never learn to appreciate them.

Fires from BC have smoke here in MN, very hazy today and you can smell a hint of smoke in the air. Great trigger for my sinuses!

Because we get clear sunrises most of the time, I take it for granted.
Really shouldn't.
On a real clear day, we can see some of the other islands.
Nature is really something to behold, if we take the time to see it.

I used to love the early morning summer sunrises in the high deserts of Wyoming.
just before the sun come up you could see a big rainbow effect of colors in the sky.

about 2-3 times a year you got a sunset that was worth the time to stop and look at.
they were over the top spectacular with colors ranging from solid yellow, through orange, deep red and a purple you have to see to believe.
one changing color at a time in the clouds and the air color followed suit, it stretched out for over 100 miles in front of you and to both sides as far as you could see..

I can't see too far from the house, only a half mile or so, but I get a great sunrise and I'm usually up 6 out of 7 days for it. Lov to see to come up. And sunsets aren't too bad either.

Sunrise on the lake was the best. Out in my boat on glass calm water with the morning mist rising then the pink of the sun popping over the horizon... loons calling to each other, the sounds of people waking in the cabins(sound would travel miles across the lake).

I'll never forget the "Tequila Sunrise" on the day I shot my largest buck. The morning was just a tad foggy consisting of that lazy, burn off before 8:30, dew laden fog. The buck crossing the field at dawn STOPPED in its tracks just when the sun tinted the whole field and sky in a brilliant burnt orange glow! It was surreal and spectacular! The two of us in opposite corners, one observing the other, just stopped to observe the wonder of it...then I shot him.

Yeah, it happens every morning yet we take them for granted. Lots of mornings I greet the sunrise while sitting in my shop door with a cup of coffee. Love to see the sunrise over the lake when we are over at my Sons condo. Love to feel the warmth it brings when sitting on a cold deer stand in the fall.

I see quite a few sunrises and sunsets when I fish. I sunburn easily, so can pretty much only fish evenings, nights or mornings and since I hunt ducks all fall, I get to see a lot of sunrises then.
