I just saw a copy of the O'Reilly book Killing Patton and I was wondering if anyone on the site has read it and if so, was there anything in it that we didn't already know?

I have the book and have read it. Maybe a few tid bits I didn't already know. But then I've read quite a bit about Patton. Still the book was interesting and definitely worth the read.

I read it about a year ago. I don't think there is anything that is really "earth shattering" but I found it to be a good read regardless what I've read in the past about Patton. I'd recommend it. I have also enjoyed some his other books. There are always things that a person can pick up out of them that you might not have known or read about previously.

Books like this should be written and read.
The generation coming up will lose the history of great men if they don't know of them. And evil people like Margaret Sanger and Barack Obama will be heralded as hero's.

My grandfather was at the accident but would never talk about it.

About a year ago I went to the Library and read the reviews in a military history magazine that has quite a following with some serious scholars presenting reviews on the book.
Long story short they said it was loaded with inaccuracy and out and out b.s. So I never read the book. Remember I and the messenger, so don't shoot me.

Read it along with all but the rising sun book. Was ok, I'd rank it way below most of the others in the series, maybe above the Kennedy book, but I remember about Kennedy and that tempers my view. I think these are decent enough books. Kids could learn something.
