If you could lobby any company to bring back one gun/cartridge combination what would it be? why?

Oh, and mine would be the Ruger Blackhawk in 357 maximum. Great cartridge that was mis-used and died too soon in a great hunting handgun platform.

Remington 5mm Rim-fire , the best squirrel gun I ever had . :)

I wouldn't mind seeing some more .41 rimfire for my Vetterlis. The ones I haven't converted.

I'd like to see though a revival of small frame small grip revolvers similar to the break open Iver Johnsons, H&Rs, etc., that flooded the market in the late 1800s and early 1900s. One made with modern steel with a swing cylinder design chambered as a 5 shot in 32 auto or 380 auto would be a nice concealed piece.... problem with modern guns is, even those chambered for small cartridges are often so BIG. Those that aren't are EXPENSIVE.

Remington's XP-100 as a standard basic offering much as it once was. No limit to the customizing that can be done once you have the basic firearm.

Still a few of the old ones around that can be picked up but with the factory no longer making them the price of used ones is steadily going up.

I would choose the REDHAWK .

Marlin 1894 FG (.41 Magnum)

Ruger Blackhawk Hunter Stainless (.41 Magnum)

Desert Eagle (.41 Magnum)

Coonan (.41 Magnum)

Excellent round. S&W still selling models. Taurus is too. Ruger has new Model Blackhawk.

Tough call on which cartridge. Maybe three- 375 HH, 30-06, 222 Rem.

Simple and no question on which gun. The barrel would be stamped "Winchester - Made in USA - Model 70"
It would have good quality straight grained walnut, simple checking with steel shotgun butt. The bolt, action and floor/tg would be based on pre-64 design from forged billet steel alloy, cnc machined for trued bolt-action-bore axis alignment and pillar bedded in stock. The barrel would be high quality on par with Krieger or Shilen Select in 4-5 mid weight shallow convex taper contour.

Oh what the hey! For primarily cast same as above but add Winchester 1885 action with modern steels, alignment, etc. in 45-70 with best rifling and twist for BP velocity cast. Maybe equivalent to Badger or Krieger cast bullet friendly barrel.

In keeping with the spirit of Wiljen's question ie. not inventing something NEW, I'd like to see the Sav. M24 chambered in .357 Max / 12 gg.

For those who're only needing their wild eyed dreams fulfilled I submit the Marlin M94 in .45ACP, either carbine or rifle length.

The .222 is NOT dead as Craig Boddington may think,it is still the best .22 caliber to me,and I will choose it over any other regardless of velocity.
I think mine actual choice is the .375 Winchester.

For something reintroduced I would like to see Remington bring back the model 600 in 35 Rem. Or put it in the model 660 for those who dont like the vent rib. A 358win in either would be great also.

Original spec Winchester Highwall in any of the traditional rimmed cartridges (30-30, 30-40 Krag, 38-55, etc).

Winchester 94 (top-eject/half cock notch) in 38-55

Winchester .32 Special. Maybe Marlin will make one on the 336 action. I don't know why I'd like one -- its supposed to be only marginally better than a .30-30.

I second the motion on chambering more rifles in the .30-40 Krag. Someone should make new model Winchester 1895s in .30-40.

Well, the pistol I would most like to see brought back, it would be the Ruger "Old Army"

As for the rifle, I go along with others here, with the Savage Mdl 99

I'd like to see all N- and L-frame S&Ws available with a 5 inch barrel. Good sight radius, but still short enough to sit down with while carrying in a hip holster.

for me there would be no question;the xp-100 would win hands down.i have owned two,the early .221 fireball (never should have let it go) and the first day i saw an ad for the xp-100 in 7br i called the factory and ordered one on the spot;i had the first one in wyoming the factory told me.you can do anything your little heart wants to them(and we have) remington missed the boat stopping this one.

thats how it looks from here

`Only ONE! Hmmmm, can't do it. First, the little Remington pump in 32-20. I forget the model number. 2nd- the Model 99 Savage. 3rd- Ithaca model 37's the way they used to be built. Let's see..... that covers small CF, deer rifles and shotguns. I'd also like the Remington #4 Rolling block in 22LR.

Peestols.......The K-32 and the J frame 32Mag version of the M-31 only with a 5" barrel and adjustable sights. Webleys in 455 and H+R 9 shot revolvers.

There, that was only one....sort of!

I believe they made these for a very very short time. I read an article about them in some gun rag, but never saw one, and they were gone. I'd love to find them.
Also a Win 94 in 480.
One that was never made, but would like to see is a redhawk or super redhawk 8 shot 357, in stainless, not gray,
With a 5 inch barrel please.

Rifle: +1 on the Ruger #3 in any (or all) of the following: 32-20, 30-30, 30-40, 38-55. I've got a Hornet and, every time I take it to the range, I feel like butting my head against a stump for trading off my 30-40 #3.

Handgun: REAL High Standard Military-frame .22s...Tropy, Citation, and Victor.

+1, I would love to have one of these little revolvers. I had a chance to by one of these back several years ago and I am still kicking myself in the rear end for not buying it!!

And I would also like to see the Colt 10mm Delta Elite make a come back!!

I would have to go for the Mod 99F savage in a 284 win. I had one long ago and lost it in a house fire. My second choice would be a mini mod 99 sav in all of the old cals like 25-20, 32-20, and 38-40. Years a go Savage made a limited run of these little rifles. The cool thing about them is because of the rotary magazine you can shoot pointed bullets in them. A third choice would be a mod 99 in a 30-30 winchester. Once again pointed bullets.

Best Wishes from the Boer Ranch,

Joe

Can't believe this, was at R-Guns in Lake Havasu City Arizona today nosing around and they had a near mint 30-30 Stevens 325-C (only mfg from 1947-1950) with the butter knife bolt handle for $200.00. needless to say, it followed me home.
