Who has the best prices and lowers shipping?????

Being on a rock in the middle of an ocean, we get taken advantage of by almost all vendors.
They seem to charge extra to ship here. Even using a USPS flat rate box.
USPS large box is $18.85
I'm looking to order two boxes(1001ea) of 223 bullets, and two bags(100ea) of 223 brass.

Midsouth has the best prices, but their shipping is high. $22.00
Midway has high prices and charges us $10 handling charge.
Widner's shipping is outrageous. Since the new owners took over, I've never bought anything from them.
Graf prices, and shipping, are as high as midway. $19.00
Natchez is almost always out of stock, prices and shipping higher than Midsouth. $18.00
Any other places I can try??????

I'll second monmouth reloading. They had the best price I found for hornady 55 fmj's and use flat rate boxes. Will order from them again.

The Sportsman guide has the following;
Remington 223 brass $80.00 per 500 new cases
55 gr. military pull down bullets $22.00 per 250
Remington 55 gr. FMJ 223 bullets $140.00 per 1,000 new bullets. I have found their shipping to be a little cheaper then Midway, but I am not on that rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Ballistic Products runs specials and promos weekly. If you google them you'll find coupons/codes for discounts. But to be honest, I've never noticed if they charge extra for shipping to 49 & 50. Great shotgun stuff and loads.

Ya know... I am gonna offer a suggestion.

I don't need any crapola about it, but it is just how I would do things were I in your locale.

I was in the USMC a long time ago... One of the "duty stations' I would have been able to be stationed at as a CH46 mech & crew chief was Kaneohe Bay.

Perhaps it would be a good thing to get to know just a few of the folks stationed near where ya are & make some friends and this shipping thing would not be a trouble.

Another thing would be to get to know some of the folks who are pilots who fly from the CONUS to HI. & see if you ca make a deal with them about such things...

I am just being a nice feller & trying to help out.

Maybe you can get over the feeling like someone has their "Thumb on your A@@" about shipping to where ya live & realize there are a whole bunch of folks who wish they lived where ya do in.... HAWAII.

I went and put in the order at Midsouth.
6 items
4 boxes of heads, 100 each.
2 bags of 223 shells, 100 each.
My thinking is everything should fit into a large flat rate box.
$165.96 in parts
$2.25 insurance
$37.10 shipping
Sent a note asking if they could do anything to lower the shipping.
Hope they do.

I have used Midsouth the last couple times I needed powder and primers. I have been pleased. I most recently took advantage of their no hazmat offer. Did not really need more powder or primers just yet but hey, why not save $35.

I wish free shipping was for us.
Maybe they could make a Free USPS flat rate box deal.
Hazmat charge is nothing compared to the shipping/handling charge to Hawaii.
I've heard it $1000.00 per pallet of powder.
Pallet can have no more than #50 of powder.
All by ship. No air mail of powder.

Put the order in on the 6th, got it today.
Shipping went up to $14.90.for the USPS med flat rate box.
I'm sure I'll be ordering from them again.
