Does anyone make plain base checks?

I'm looking for 1000 each of .30 // .44 // and 45 calibers.

I have got 30 and 45 from n.h.schmidt and they are excellent quality. I have purchased several times from him. I don't think he makes .44, unless it's a new thing.

I just got an email from Ned; I'm waiting for him to respond to what all he has left..........??? Lol!

Funny, I've used his checks on both 9mm and anything .35 caliber with great results. Ned said he thought plain base checks weren't being used much anymore since
many folks have jumped on the powder coating band wagon. I still like to remind everyone, I still use ALL the disciplines.
I powder coat, tumble lube, dip lube, and [rarely] my lubrisizer. I was fortunate to find about 6 cans of Johnson's Liquid floor wax also...........got a quart of 60/40 made.

I use a bit of variety as well. I electrostatic PC, Hi-Tek, tumble in BLL, and the last time I had a good casting (3 weeks ago), I lubed them all in one my 7 lubesizers that are all loaded and ready with various lubes. But I still do use Ned's checks too.

To anyone interested. I have been out of the loop for some months. I have had nearly all of my time used up with the local animal shelter. That is letting up for us and we could have more time to do gas checks again. So stay tuned ,I will try to get back in the saddle soon. Who knows maybe make a 44 die set too.

If you have a plain base bullet and powder coat it, in the oven nose down, the need for a GC is pretty much negated by the PC. I have been experimenting with th RCBS 200 gr FPPB 357 bullets, (NOE Makes them also now that RCBS stopped production of the non GC) I size them to 358 with a push through die and run them up into the mid 2,400 fps range in an AR without any leading or feeding issues. Group size at 100 .4 to .5 inches. The PC process would be an easy way to solve the "lack of" problem.
