My 45 Colt win 1892 took it's last gasp last Saturday. Barrel ruined completely with a walnut at the rear sight dovetail as well as a 1/4 inch split rite in the dovetail.

Would love to have it rebarreled to 44WCF in the same outside dimensions. Any suggestions and ideas on cost for this project?

Winchester, Rossi, ect first off. Next Check out Green Mountain lever barrels and find the one you want and have it installed. How in the world did you bulge the first barrel?

I was shooting 454 minies from Lee to take up the huge chamber in pure soft lead over imr 4227 ... A soft load but what i suspect is that a portion of the skirt came apart and lodged in the barrel and the next round cought the obstruction rite there and did its thing.

Is there a way to send it to Miroku to be rebarreled? Would like very much to get a OEM barrel in 44 WCF.

Green mountain does very nice barrels as well ... But if itz posible to get an OEM barrel in 44 this would just tickle me pink

Ted, sorry to hear of your problem. You could probably order a new barrel from Miroku, but as you know, it would probably have to be fit and chambered. A Green Mountain barrel....the same thing , except you would be able to make your chamber to your specs. Good luck!

I just finished a barrel in 38-40 on a 92 clone. Making a 44-40 barrel is no problem, I made mine 26" long in octagon.

John, getting a custom barrel from you would be superb. Judging by the liner you did on my 93 Marlin I would be happy with a barrel done by you.
