Here I am at 1:02 in the morning stuck on an elevator at work. Thank the Lord I didn't get stuck with a patient. I have always hoped it would happen one day when I had a nice clean strectcher to lay on but here I am talking to the maintenance guy through the door. At least I had gone to the restroom before I got on the elevator.

I hate elevators. The ones at work are notorious for breaking down, I avoid them stairs aren't that bad. Hope you aren't stuck in there to long.

Maintenance says the elevator repair guys will be here in about 45 minutes so I won't be here all night most likely. I probably should start taking the stairs, I might lose my beer gut if I do.

Did you have him turn off the Music - the stuff in elevators is never good

This elevator is too old to have music I think. By the sound of it the repair team would be here soon.

Just got set free and now I'm back to work. All in all it wasn't too bad, definitely not the worst way to kill an hour on the clock.

if the elevator is that old and unreliable, the maintenance man should have the special key to open the doors and get you out. when I worked at vail for the ski mountain we had drills in the summer and it was a major deal to be able to get guests out of an elevator in a timely manor, if it took you more than 10 minutes you were a laughing stock. used to climb on top of the freight elevator and mess with the chefs in the summer, there were override controls on top and the chef would get on and press down but I would make it go up, they would get so mad at the elevator.

They got the doors open pretty quick, but I was stuck between floors and hospital policy is that if there is more than a 30 inch gap they can't extract some one. I was stuck half way between the 2nd and 1st floors so the pros had to come out and get the elevator to move enough to be safe. As soon as the doors opened I jumped off the thing. It gets hot on an elevator.

It's funny you should mention having used the bathroom prior...that was my first thought when I read the title. :bigsmyl2:

I wear rather notorious rubber work boots (you can imagine why they are handy for a hospital) that I was willing to repurpose if the need arose. My biggest regret about the whole thing is that I was on my way back from putting a nice clean bed in storage when I got on, having that would have made for a much better experience.

I always use the stairs. Too many horror movies have elevator scenes

I took a ride today on the elevator. The people that got off before me went to the third floor. I was going to the second floor for chemotherapy. There was a fragrance of burning marijuana on the third. I don't know if it was really there or someone smoked weed in their car or what.....

We used to use the elevator at the casino to move slot machines from the first to second floor. Put 4 people with 2 wheel carts and 4 slots in an elevator rated for 2k pounds... we tripped the weight overload a few times and got stuck between floors. Now that is fun with 4 sweaty people and about 2 inches of free space to move in... plus one of the guys always had gas and he cleared a 2,000 seat entertainment area one day... imagine that in an elevator that is stalled until maintenance resets the over load...

When I was 16-17, I worked in a hospital in summer.

Elevator got stuck with some nurses on it.

I was outside, and able to get the doors open.

Went in and boosted them out.

Got a lot of hugs and kisses that day!

When I was in school, a bunch of us got stuck.
Of course the phone was missing. Alarm didn't work.
Lucky we were a little late for class, so there were only five of us in it.
We sat on the and just talked.
Good thing the A/C still worked.
Took over an hour for us to get out.

Always go to the bathroom before you get on an elevator. You don't want to have to explain the littlle yellow puddle in the corner. Glad you got out in a reasonable amount of tine.

Unfortunately the elevator I use the most is the one up to the floor where the restroom is located.

I think Aerosmith wrote a song about that.

There's worse could happen in life than getting stuck on a elevator with SOME of those wel-mont nurses!

Some of them I wouldn't mind, others are a different story.
