Cleaning casting pot

I have a Lee bottom pour casting pot that I need to change from alloy to pure lead. What is the best way to do that?

Hot water and a brass brush. But if it's empty I wouldn't worry too much.

If you are talking about emptying it of current lead, just get as
Much out as possible by tilting forward and draining into ingot mold.

I empty mine periodically, by pouring out all but a tiny bit of alloy, then, while hot, inverting it over my rendering container. That leaves only the tiny bit inside the spout.

I just pull on my welding gloves, pick the pot up, and dump it out into an ingot mold.

Brush it out with a brass brush when cool.
