I'm not sure where to post this, so this thread looks like it's read quite a bit.

It's a pretty solemn day today. I thought that I'd share a few photos.

The American Cemetery in Normandy, France from my visit there two years ago. You just cannot understand their sacrifice until you walk the acres of headstones marking the fallen.

My unit's Memorial Wall at the First Special Forces Group's HQ. Sadly the list grows longer every year.

How well I remember standing in the solemn formation and ceremony in front of the original smaller monument the larger one replaced when the 1st names were put on it. .........lest we forget.....

I also remember as the ceremony ended and the SF Soldiers were dismissed and began drifting back to duty a Team Sergeant not far from me remarked; "'fore this is over they'll need a larger stone......"
