Any one have experience with this boolit in the 45ACP?
Any problems with feeding?

I'm going to follow this one as I'd really like to pick that mold up some day.

I shot thousands of these from a Magma mold years ago with good results. I run them through a custom built .45 with a comp and loaded to major power factor for USPSA and shot them at minor power factor for NRA Action matches.
I never had any problem with feeding using McCormick and Wilson magazines but then my gun would feed empty cases also.

That Magma mold looks much the same as the NOE 155.
I am hoping to be able to run them in a Springfield Armory Mil Spec 45acp. It feeds Lee 452-200-SWC(H&G 68 clone) without hiccups.
The nose on the 155 grain looks to be long enough that it could work. I need some verification before I drop the money on the mold.

The nose on the 155 gr SWCis about the same as on the 200 gr SWC.

You might try to get a sample from some one who cast the 155 gr SWC, a lot of commercial casters off this bullet.

I have a bunch of the NOE 155 cast, unsized if someone wants to try them. They run fine in my Kimber, although I had to play with OAL to get there. At a shorter OAL, I would get several FTFeed, but when I got the OAL right, they feed flawlessly. A friend had an issue with them. I don't know what it was, but he was using my load that wasn't set up for his gun. It was only a couple of mags worth. I think maybe they didn't want to fully chamber based on throat dimensions and long seating for my Kimber.

If interested, pm me and we can work out some details. I would like to help out, but would need to be reimbursed for the lead and shipping. Sorry. Wish I could do more to help.

I have the Lee bullet this NOE was based on, which is the same weight and configuration. It was discontinued some time ago. It feeds fine. If you find yours does not changing magazine type may help, as it did for me.

Only problem is that due to very light weight point of impact may not be congruent with the fixed sight regulation on your gun. This may be aggravating. Chops a very sharp round hole in paper targets.

A member on this site has graciously allowed me to purchase a few from him to try out(Thanks BK7saum). I received them yesterday and after sizing and lubing, they were ready for loading this morning.
I put 50 of them together using a midrange load of WST to make sure there was enough power there to function the pistol. I loaded them to 1.245 OAL which is the length the Lee 200 SWC functions well.
So I went to the range with them and the Mil Spec 1911.
I found they shoot slightly lower on target than the heavier boolits which was to be expected. All I needed to do was cover the center of the target with the dot on the front sight and got consistent hits.
Accuracy was as good with them as with the other boolits I have tried. Recoil was reduced significantly compared to the heavier slugs.
There were no failures of any king with these boolits. Feeding was smooth and flawless. Ejection was positive. I can't say how consistent it was since the cases were bouncing off the walls of the indoor range stall where I was shooting. At least none of them hit me in the face.
I guess I am going to have to buy another mold. Darn it!

I've been wanting a light weight SWC for a while.

Checked eBay just now and there was a Lee 2 cavity 155 gr SWC with a buy it now price of $19.99 and free shipping.

Snapped it up in a heartbeat. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

I wasn't aware Lee made a 155 grain SWC mold for 45 auto. Must have been a custom order, since they don't make it currently. It will undoubtedly be an excellent mold for you.

Many years ago I had a Lee 155. I don't remember liking the way it shot/fed.

My Lee 155 arrived late yesterday. Today I got it cleaned up and casting. I cast about 14 lbs of boolits.

I was surprised that it's a plain base boolit and not bevel base like most of the newer molds.

Here's a bit of boolit porn for ya.

I coated a handful in black powder coat just to see what they would look like.

Please let me know how they work for you.
I have fired most of the rest of the ones a member sent me to try. The second time through didn't go as well. No malfunctions but accuracy wasn't in the same class as the 200 grain boolits I have been using. I have a few left and will try them out but I may not be purchasing a new mold after all.

My second range trip with the Lee 155 SWC boolits was today. I've ran them through 6 1911 pistols and one Glock. No problems at all. I'm loading them over 3.9 gr of IMR Target and they are a soft shooting load.

They cut some awesome holes in the target too. I've decided I'm going to pick up a NOE 4 cavity of this boolit. It's going to pretty much replace my 200 gr SWC boolits.

Also the Lyman 452389 button nose seems to be working pretty well for me also. I've got a couple of mags that won't feed it well but most of them have no problem.

I picked up a NEI 178 gr TC boolit mold. I'll shoot those next trip. I'm starting to really light for caliber boolits in my handguns.
