It can be had, but it's about $11 per lb., and that's an old price! Get (better still find some)wheel weightsFor antimony. Wheelweights straight are your cheapest boolit material. 50/50 WW/pure is about 10 - 12 BHN and can be heat treated to about BHN 22. This can be used for almost everything. Add 1 to 2 percent tin for toughness and mold fillout.

Antimony can be had from the Antimony Man, along with other useful casting metals and tools.

Bill is first class to deal with and very knowledgable on our subject.

You could buy some chilled magnum shot to add to your lead to raise the antimony content.

Lawrence magnum shot used to be 5% antimony and 1/2% tin. This alloy will heat treat to 42 BHN! Without mixing with anything that is.

rotometals they are in california.
just look up lead,tin,antimony.
or tin metal.
but the antimony man has it, and the flux ,and instructions.
be patient with it. there is a learning curve involved.

If you can scrounge up some linotype, that would also work for ya.

Older print shops used to use this lead to make the lettering as it is hard and held up in the printing process. News papers also but further back in time. Some print shops still have older presses that requires the use of LEAD type. THus you have LINETYPE. Ebay... lead dealers.. old print shops... salvage yards... friends.. sometimes enemies will throw it at you until they figure out that is why you carry a bucket and are catching the stuff with a smile. :-D
