Had a bucket of COWW. I didn't flux as much as I should have because I was primarily casting sinkers.
Any way this bullet is a reject. Can any one tell me what the the two spots might be. Only seen this on 2 other occasions. Could it be zink ?

I don't think it's zinc, probably just "dirt" and such.

To me it looks like some kind of inclusion from not fluxing well. Depending on what temperature I don't think the zinc would stay separate.

If there were no other boolets with these same markings then I would just either chuck it or remelt it again. I`ve seen boolets with similar marks when using a LEE drip-a-matic with a small drip getting into the mold before the lead pour starts.Robert

that or ash.

I'd remelt it or plink with that one..

What is the surface you are dropping these cast bullets on to? Clean dry cotton, or some residue on a table surface?

Another WAG; mebbe its from too cold a melt cooling in a wrinkle?

Thanks for replies. My my melt at time of casting was at or above 700 degrees. Works best for my sinker molds I'm not as worried as I was curious. There were some others I cast that came out with these marks but weighed within a 1/2 grain of the others with out this so I will load them.
