What are the bore/groove dim's and number of grooves, etc. found on the XLR barrels in .444?

Second question, will Marlin rebarrel an older .444 with a new XLR barrel? I suppose that would be considered custom work. Every time I get the idea to call Marlin, it's after hours on the east coast.

MJ,
I have no personal experience, but I'm sure I read here that Marlin will re-barrel for you for a fairly reasonable price.

Don't have an XLR, so can't answer the other question... I'm betting the XLR barrel is a Ballard-rifling style barrel, though... Purely a guess.

The XLR barrels are Ballard rifled but I'd like to know the internal barrel dimensions for the .444.

I think the rebarreling service offered by Marlin pertains to substituting a "Ballard-Rifled" barrel for a "Mirco-Groove" barrel that was originally installed at the factory. IMO, substituting an XLR barrel (stainless steel) for an older (blued steel) barrel would be a customization which Marlin says they don't do.
