I was just given a two pound bottle of N110 by my brother. V-V doesn't have load data on their site anymore.

357 magnum, 16" Win. 94

Bullets used - RCBS 158 SWCGC. (163 gr. with my alloy).
Saeco 158 SWCPB. (163 with my alloy).

Starline brass and Win small pistol primers. NOT Magnum!

I'm thinking that a start load the same as 2400 would be a good safe place to begin the work up. Approx. 11.5 grains.

Any comments and advice is welcome.

Thanks,
Jeff

I use N110 a lot in rifle cartidges with cast boolits and find it to be a tad slower than 2400.

So your starting load should be well safe as a basis to work up from.

I find it a most excellent powder, not position sensitive, giving consistent results even when leaving partially burnt grains with light boolits e.g 310" Cadet.

Lyman 48th Edition suggests a starting load of 12.3 gns N110 with the 358429 170 gn boolit in 357 magnum rifle data, 2400 starting load with the same boolit is 11.5 gns.

I use Vihtavuori powders a lot by choice.

Sure they do!

One thing to keep in mind is that this data conforms to CIP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commission_Internationale_Permanente_pour_l'Epreuv e_des_Armes_%C3%A0_Feu_Portatives) guidelines, not SAAMI. I've found that many of the loads start where domestically-produced load data indicates a maximum charge.
